Council Selects Proposals for First Barron's Branch Development Sites

On Tuesday, May 4, Waco City Council approved staff recommendations to begin negotiations with development teams for the first five private development sites in Barron’s Branch — setting the stage for new restaurants, businesses, offices, and residences alongside the future downtown park district.

The school at 500 N. University Parks Drive has seen generations of students across five eras over more than 50 years. As this site prepares for its next chapter, we invite the community to help us tell the story of the campus with our video history interview series. Starting April 1, you will see construction fencing placed around the school site as we begin the abatement and removal process.
